My Hair Journey and Look book

I have had so many ladies ask about my personal hair journey so I thought that I should lay it out step by step, from the beginning to current.

My story.. The beginning

I didn’t just wake up one day and think "hey I’m not getting perms anymore" no, I wish that I had that kind of will power but that didn't happen. I was going to a hair stylist recommend by a friend of mine who noticed that my hair was breaking off pretty badly and suggested that I hold off on a perm until Thanksgiving, this was in late September of 08. My hair was so damaged from bleach and color and perms that I figured... WHY NOT! I went way past that date and on June 21st I found Hairlista. A website that helped me build my regimen and understand what was going on with my hair.

Here is my current regimen

Seeing the light- My natural hair texture
I was always so pressed to get a perm that I never realized that the beautiful hair that I was longing for was right there. Under all those chemicals and bad things that I was doing to my hair, what I wanted had been there the whole time. I then discovered MY natural hair texture and I could be more proud of what I saw.

The protective style
I spent several hours on Hairlista reading up on how to start a regimen, looking for good products and just getting an understanding of MY hair and what would work for me. That day I went to the store and gathered items for my regimen. I read up on protective hair styles and how to hide my ends and I began creating those styles.

I began playing with different ways to pin up my
styles and I started loving them more and more!

The products!

I wouldn’t say that I am a product junkie because when I find something that works I stick with it. Here are some of my favorite products that have carried me through my journey.

Scalp Oils Heat Protector products CHI Nourish Intense Shampoo

Realizing.. I didnt always need heat!

The thing that I was learing was that I didnt always need heat to creat styles but I would allow a "heat pass" once a month where I could display my length.

Hair Look Book

After several years of taking care of my hair I’m still learning every single day; here's a look at my hair.
