Quick, easy and cheap chicken crock pot recipe

Ok I so I know that a lot of people don’t like drumstick but they make the perfect crock pot meal, here is what you need:

I pack of drum stick (about 5)

2 small jars of chicken gravy (about 2 12 oz. jars)

Half of an onion julienned

Salt and pepper to taste

Garlic powder

Instructions:

Put gravy onions and chicken in crock pot on low for 8 hours and that all!

It quick easy and very very good!

Creating a custom head board

Hi!

So I will be building a custom head board for my bed and it’s a long process but it should be very easy. I found the fabric that I want to use now I have to get the padding and the wood to build it I will update here as I go along

Measurements: 69 1/6 across and 54 inches high from the floor

Here is the fabric that I have chosen:

Simple natural hair treatment using yogurt!

For the ladies, here is a simple natural treatment for soft beautiful hair, also here are some of my recent hair pics

§  Simply whip, a sufficient amount to cover all of your hair, plain, unflavored yogurt in a bowl with a fork (for extra nourishment and moisture, you can also add extra virgin olive oil).

§  Apply to dry hair. Part your hair in 1 inch sections and massage the yogurt into your scalp.

Continue the process until the yogurt has been massaged into your entire scalp.

§  Then thoroughly spread the remaining yogurt to the rest of your hair from roots to ends.

Leave the yogurt in for 1-2 hours.

§  Then rinse the yogurt out with lukewarm water and a mild shampoo. Voila! Naturally beautiful hair.

Always opt for pumps when wearing dresses

FABULOUS Antique Store

Hi All,

Sorry its been a while since the last post but I’m back! This past weekend I went on a short weekend trip and on my back home this wonderful little antique store stole my heart. This was an unusual store because it wasn’t junky and nasty, it was beautiful and well thought out. There were 3 floors and each room was staged so beautifully that I have to share it with you. I was in Macy's this weekend which I rarely ever shop because of their high prices and small selection of things that I would not want. Butttttttttttttttttt I did splurge on some cute little coach flip flops that I am super excited about and they were on sale! WINNING!

Goodies from the Goodwill!

Ok so I've been looking for a super cute dressing table but i was not willing to pay an arm and a leg to get it. Today I went into a local Goodwill store and found the PERFECT table for me! It has that vintage look with its laminate top and pretty faded yellow paint. I cleaned it up and polished it and next is the chair.

Talk about an amazing find!

Ok so I just had to feature this on my blog. My friend found an awesome dress at local consignment shop and it’s absolutely fabulous! The dress appears to be inspired by the super cool store Anthropologie with its bold colors and shapes. The best thing about all of this is that she got the dress at a crazy $25!!! This dress is a gem and a super special find that will never be found again! She most definitely has an eye for all things fabulous and this amazing dress proves it!

The have gluten free cupcakes with amazing cream cheese icing, they make breads and tarts OH MY! They also have a small cafe that sells amazing food! Perfect summer clothes for us curvy girls!!!!!

So I have seen some SERIOUS offenses by us ladies with curves in the past months! There is no reason to look a mess in this day and age. You do not; I repeat do not have to spend a fortune to look amazing. Just a great outfit and some accessories and you are good to go. Here are a few of my fav items from the FOREVER 21+ line. I also LOVE the Goodwill, they usually have awesome dresses for $6.75 each! It is VERY important to realize that you are plus size! Stop worrying about the size on the tag and get what fits you!!!!!! Otherwise you end up in something that is too SMALL or too BIG. Yes, you will have people talking but it won’t be about how amazing you look!

Natural hair!

There once was a time were I would always feel the need to perm my hair. I would die if I saw wavy roots and perm it right way. I guess I never realized how much damaged I was really doing to my hair until I went to a hair stylist and she challenged me not to get a relaxer for 3 months. At first it was hard because I wasn't used to not having a perm and slowly it became easier with every passing day. I then began to trim off the premed ends and experimenting with natural styles and I fell in love. This is my natural hair texture and I LOVE it!

IT'S FINALLY OVER

I DID IT!!! Graduation was on Saturday May 21, 2011 and I am overjoyed with my accomplishment. I am soooooo happy that I don’t know what to do with myself. On to the next big thing in my life!

GRADUATION!

Soooooooooooooooo the day is coming when I graduate and the countdown begins!!!! I have been waiting for this day for so long that I don’t even know what to do with myself. The graduation is on 05/21/2011 and I am dying to get there. There have been so many road blocks and that will be my day! I can NOT wait!

Heart Breaking

Today the news came out that a young lady was found dead in a river. For some reason this really touched my heart for several reasons. I used to live on Eberle drive in those exact same apartments so I think back and I remember the times I spent outside and walking to the Plaza... she was young and beautiful and had the rest of her life in front of her and someone took that from her... and finally because I'm human and the human side of me can't help but feel hurt for this young lady and her family. I can't understand for the life of me how you can TAKE someone’s life I mean literally take it from them. How do you look some in the eyes and take their life? The only people who can do something so horrible are perfectly evil. I mean the word evil in every sense of the word. When they stand in the mirror the only reflection one could see must truly be the devil, must truly be a rotting soul catching flames with every single breath must be a human being so horrible that they only place they can go is down... straight to hell where they deserve to have their flesh burn with every moment of the day...

So today I began packing my stuff to get ready to move and I'm thrilled! I'm so ready to just be regular! The apt is amazing and its huge and in an amazing area I'm ready

THE BOOK IS HERE!

So on Saturday my book was delivered to my door and I opened it and I couldn’t believe that I had in my hands! It was actually in my hands and I could touch and feel what I had worked on for over a year. I can’t really cant exaplin how I felt when I got it I just couldn’t stop smiling. Now on to the review process of the book and then I can put it in distribution so I will be available really soon.

Oh my… It’s really happening, I just ordered the proof copy of my book and I am elated. I wonder what it will feel like to hold it in my hands and see the words that I have written. Foodie Post!

So I was watching Diners, Drive-ins and Dives and I saw some scrumptious fish tacos, now had never had them before and I was dying to try them. Sooooo to Google I went and I found a place called Tortilleria Sinaloa on Eastern Avenue. Hands down they have the best tacos that I have ever tasted in my entire life! They hand make the tortillas and the chips and the sauces are amazing! If you love tacos then you have to HAVE to try this place.

Progress on my book has stalled and I need to get back into it so that I can finally complete it. I am very excited to venture out and try new thing in my life and I am lucky to have the support of my friends and family.

So I’m finally taking the next big step in my life to try something new, and I wanted to share with some close family my decision. So of course I was silly and thought that people would support me but it turns out that they only had negative things to say of course. So I have now decided that I will NOT share anything with anyone until I have completely finished and I am satisfied with my work. It always seems as though people can never find anything positive to say. Is it because you are bitter and jealous because you have done NOTHING notable with you life? Something to think about.

Hmmmmm Something to think about

You know what is so interesting… when you know that’s its time to let something go. When you keep trying to please everyone and make everyone happy you only hurt yourself in the end. You begin to loose sight of all of the things that are important to you and all of the goals that you wanted to accomplish. When you look back you see that you have made no progress and even if its hurts you need to man up and move on. There is no reason to continue to be unhappy and others are living their lives and being happy. They only thing that has ever and will ever help me get through things is writing.

Thinking

I cant help but wonder where my life will go. I am in my last semester of college graduating in Spring 2011 and I am ready to move on. I mean things have got to change if I want to keep my sanity and my happiness. I know myself and I know when its time to move on with something and now is the time. I have so many thoughts running through my mind at one time that I can’t seem to focus or complete a project or task in my personal life. I need and want more from life than this mediocre mundane existence.

Please dont get on my nerves

Unfortunately I’ve been sick since Christmas Eve and I still have a cough so I decided to make another doctors appt. Now, I couldn’t see my doctor so I took who was available and that was NOT a good idea! I arrived on time for my 8:45am appt and right now it is 9:45 and I still have not been seen by this doctor. I am so upset right now that I can not even begin to express how I feel. Time management is so important when you are running a business otherwise you look unprofessional and unorganized. It really saddens me to say that this is an African American practice and I would expect them to do better. There is NO reason why I have been waiting for more than an hour and haven’t been seen. Then when I ask the nurse’s assistant when the doctor will be ready she gave me attitude. I don’t really need to explain why Im asking how long the wait is because at this moment I am more important than you as a sick patient. You better go back to taking vitals and flipping charts before we have a misunderstanding

So much has gone on in the past week with the passing of Kenyon's grandmother that everything just seems to run into one another. In a time where someone passes away you can begin to see people’s real intentions and their real feelings. I just don understand the concept of selfishness and thinking of what you can get out of the deal and thinking that its ok to be that way. At no point in time is it ever ok to bicker and fight over something that isn’t even yours. I don’t get it, I really don’t.

Working myself to death

When did working become so important that we don’t take a break to eat lunch and that is seen as being dedicated? What is wrong with this country that people work so much they end up having a heart attack or their families leave them?  I have have been very sick and I have been to work every single day until I went to the doctors and she made me stay home from work. Why did it come to that for me to realize that I needed to be home? Is it because I was thinking about how bad it might look if I called out sick so early in the year? I mean everyone knows that I’ve been sick and they probably would understand but I think it’s about the way America views the work ethic which is so backwards  that we kills ourselves to look good for our bosses. In other cultures employees are allotted time to take naps during the work day to return more productive. In the Japanese culture women who go through a bad break up are allowed time off to get themselves together. Things that affect us so much emotionally can affect us physically as well when we don’t take time to deal with them. Whoever decided that working yourself to death makes you a good employee? When did dying for a company make you a martyr? I don’t want to give my sanity, my home life or my health to make a company a few extra bucks. The only thing they will do for me is send my family some flowers if I die; they will clean my desk and ill be forgotten about… So is it really worth it? I think not so I will be moving on.

Well the New Year is upon us and 2010 is gone. Instead of making resolutions I just think of things that I really need to do and just do them, with no time line and no pressure to do them. I did however have a BALL at the Renaissance Hotel Water Table Lounge! The atmosphere was warm and inviting yet very upbeat. Go into the New Year with an open mind and a pure heart and only good things will happen in your life.
